The situation induced by the economic and geopolitical crisis requires acting in a responsible and sustainable manner. Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego implements these assumptions virtually in all areas of business – initiates the programmes for the society and economy, is a respected employer and credible financial partner for business and local governments. At the same time it wants to achieve the leader position of programmes for sustainable development, which is shown in the Sustainable Development Report for 2021, among others.

Last year Polish development bank generated PLN 122 billion of support for the economy in credits and guarantees. It was present with its clients on 76 foreign markets on 6 continents. It received a record number of applications for building almost 5 thousand social and  cooperative flats.

BGK’s strategy and business model contribute to the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

BGK seeks a balance between the effectiveness of conducted business activities and their impact on natural environment and the quality of life in Poland. In the report for the first time the bank has shown the carbon footprint calculations which include total greenhouse gas emissions produced directly or indirectly by the bank. The report complies with GRI standard – international and renowned non-financial reporting model.
